From February 2 thru March 19, the work of student artists from kindergarten through grade 12 will be on display for this annual tradition at the Haggin Museum. This long-running student competition encourages students by providing a public venue for their artwork. On average, about 1,000 pieces of their creativity will be on display for the public to witness. Celebrate young local artists by checking out their beautiful work.
On Saturday, February 11, the Stockton chapter of the Filipino American National Historical Society will be holding their Chicken Adobo Plate lunch pick up fundraiser from 11 am to 2 pm. Pickup some delicious chicken adobo, veggie stir fry, pork Shanghai lumpia, rice, pancit, and turon all while donating to an organization dedicated to supporting our Filipino community. Plus, you might even get a pic taken with Stockton Kings Mascot Dunkson when you pick up your order.
Referred to as the "crown jewel" of Stockton, The Bob Hope Fox Theatre has quite the legacy here in our city. It its decades of existence, it has housed everything from live music and entertainment to classic films and more. In the thespian world, from February 24 to March 11, the Stockton Civic Theatre's Black Box will present their production of Love, Loss, And What I Wore—based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman. Take in a stunning theatrical performance with this play of monologues and ensemble pieces telling stories about women, clothes, and memory.
Extreme cage fighting returns to Stockton with 209 Beatdown XVII, happening Saturday, February 4 at 4 pm live from the Stockton Civic Auditorium. Fighters from the 209 and all over California will be vying for the Middleweight, Bantamweight, Welterweight, Featherweight, and Heavyweight titles. Get your crew together and cheer on these skilled MMA combatants fighting for glory.
