Overview
Swenson Park Golf Course is owned by the City of Stockton and opened in 1952. This traditional parkland-style golf course was designed by the popular Northern California golf course architect, Jack Fleming. Swenson Park is known for its beautiful Valley Oaks which come into play on most holes, some of which have been determined to be over two hundred years old. Swenson Park is also known as an easy walking course with lakes coming into play on both golf courses.
Swenson Park Golf Course offers both an 18-hole par-72 championship golf course, as well as an executive 9-hole par-3 course to meet a variety of skill levels. Swenson Park’s 18-hole golf course features 6,407 yards from the longest tees, while the 9-hole par-3 course plays 1,380 yards from its longest tees and is a great starter course for the beginner while affording the accomplished player and excellent tune up facility. Both Van Buskirk and Swenson Park Golf Courses play host to the Men’s and Women’s City of Stockton Golf Championship held annually every summer.
ALSO, Swenson now offers a miniature golf experience! The Mini at Swenson Park is an 18-hole miniature golf adventure. It features creative obstacles, gorgeous layouts, and exciting twists and turns for all ages. Open from sunrise to sunset, you can enjoy a single round for $15 per person or make a day of it for $25. The Mini is also perfect for birthday parties, company events, and private celebrations with flexible group rates, party packages (24–60 players), reserved seating, party favors, catering options from the Fox Den, and exclusive course access. This is perfect fun for the whole family!

Excellent municipal course. As far as I can tell from my research, it is the cheapest 18-hole course in San Joaquin County. The monthly memberships for both the 18-hole course and the 9-hole Executive Par 3 course are very affordable. At the time of writing this, it is $180 a month for (mostly) unlimited walking of the 18-hole, and $99 a month for (mostly) unlimited walking of the 9-hole course. There are no initiation fees. The landscape is gorgeous, with wildlife abundant, and large open fairways that are very forgiving for a slice or fade. Scattered ponds and bunkers add difficulty to the relatively flat layout of the course, which will challenge more experienced players as well. This course has been a staple of the City of Stockton since 1952. By playing this course, you can be sure your green fees go towards helping the community and keeping golf accessible for future generations of San Joaquin Valley residents.
Awesome to have this facility so close to home and available. Beautiful time of year to get out and enjoy a local treasure! Greens are always in great shape! Looks like they've put a putt-putt golf course in right by the first hole on the Magnolia course! Can't wait for it to open
Great experience playing here on Saturday. The course was in fairly good shape and the pace of play was fantastic. Also - would like to shoutout the guy at the clubhouse on Saturday morning (didn't catch his name). I mistakenly booked my tee time for Sunday instead of Saturday. He ended up helping me squeeze into a different time slot. Amazing customer service! I will definitely be back (and hopefully shoot a better score LOL)
Par three is fun to play. One thing kinda bugs me is when I see people waltz right onto the course without paying. And occasionally they'll let like ten teenagers out there at once. Is tensome a word?
