Swenson Park Golf Course is owned by the City of Stockton and opened in 1952. This traditional parkland-style golf course was designed by the popular Northern California golf course architect, Jack Fleming. Swenson Park is known for its beautiful Valley Oaks which come into play on most holes, some of which have been determined to be over two hundred years old. Swenson Park is also known as an easy walking course with lakes coming into play on both golf courses.
Swenson Park Golf Course offers both an 18-hole par-72 championship golf course, as well as an executive 9-hole par-3 course to meet a variety of skill levels. Swenson Park’s 18-hole golf course features 6,407 yards from the longest tees, while the 9-hole par-3 course plays 1,380 yards from its longest tees and is a great starter course for the beginner while affording the accomplished player and excellent tune up facility. Both Van Buskirk and Swenson Park Golf Courses play host to the Men’s and Women’s City of Stockton Golf Championship held annually every summer. Find out more information on the Swenson Park Golf Course and reserve your tee time online.
My Son and Daughter inlaw had their wedding reception here October 2021 and it was perfect! The Manager and the staff did an awesome job with everything including serving, decorations and set up. The staff were on top of everything and always had a smile. Thank you for the fabulous job and wonderful memories. We will definitely use them again!
Update 4/2022. They've made a ton of improvements and the course is in good shape. Expect really slow play and long rounds, especially on the weekends!
The course was in good condition and the weather was perfect. The hotdog from the snack bar was good.
It's a beautiful Golf Course reasonable rates and I love the nature out there. I highly recommend going out there. Love the car and bike show the veterans put on out there. It's all about our vets God Bless America which is still standing so far
Fun track and a bit more difficult than you might think. Lots of weeds around the greens and just off fairway. Watch out for the roots from all the mature trees. Good day of golf.
Another gem of a course where you’d least expect it. The maintenance guy clearly cares about his course as he was shoveling broken tees. Layout is wide open just about every hole, miss into the trees, you’ll be punished! Greens and tee boxes were excellent. Range wasn’t open and staff seemed a bit unorganized. Will definitely come back!
Course is in pretty good shape. Greens are nice but slow. They were wet and needed mowing and rolling.
Swenson Park Golf Course is a great place to hold events and grab a quick bite to eat between life. The course regularly opens every day at 6:30am for golf and 7am for food.
Swenson is the course I learned how to Golf on with my Brother in Law. I like that it's Easy to get on and it is made for all types of Golfers. They also have a Great SnackBar.
Great course right off I-5 in Stockton. They have a nice 18-hole course and a 9-hole executive par 3 course as well. I've played both and frankly you can't go wrong with either one. You'll see plenty of geese and maybe even a fox or two while you're out there. Check it out!
It was great day. They have a car show and a vendor group every 2sd Sunday of the month.
The 18 course fairways and greens are in great shape right now... the rough is pretty rough, if you find the rough good luck finding your ball. The Fox's Den is remodeled and the food is Great! Fresh and cooked on order. Try the Swenson Cheese steak it's super good!
Not a bad course for the price. Excellent for a practice round if you're in the neighborhood.
The driving range is sand. Crab grass and gopher holes all over the hitting surface. The course looks in good shape.
I like this course. It is fun course. I have a good time to play there.😁😁😁😁🌷
Nice Disc Golf course on the ball golf course. 18 holes great tee signs and pads. Small fee of $6 is well worth it.
Best Public Course in the Valley! From the first hole,to the last. Amazing staff and Great pace of play. Finished 18 holes in 2.5 hours so will be going again very soon
Good pace, walkable course. Fairways are well groomed for a Muni course, and the greens are true (though slow). I had a great time! Long & straight...
One of the better bang for you buck municipal courses I’ve played. Great options with a grass range, 18 hole championship course and a really good 9 hole par 3 course. I wouldn’t call the par 3 a short course, as it will test all of your irons. Nice chipping and putting greens as well. Wish they had smoother rides through the course and firmer greens, but for 20$ after 2 or 3, I can’t complain.
Friendly Service. The course is in decent condition because proper maintenance is being done. Example the fairways were recently aerated. The greens are in good condition except players are not doing repair of THEIR own ball marks. Good marshall.... she did a good job of speeding up slow play.
Great public course at a reasonable rate. Greens are a little slow but the course is maintained well. Range needs better balls, targets and a bunker for practice. Staff are all good people.
Hitting range is open again! Beautiful day to go work on your swing. Awesome to have this facility so close to home and available.
First time throwing disc golf here. Ball golfers we're friendly and courteous. Course just beautiful and challenging. Can't wait to go back.
This is a hreat place for beginners. They had no carts available when we arrived even though we booked a tee time with carts, and the greens were punched so the putting was awful. Service was good and the fairways were decent. Maybe the worst course in area as far as maintenance, but still a really fun track.
Awesome disc golf course on the same property. Bring your walking shoes, though. It's over 10k feet.
Attended the OTB Open disk golf tournament. The top male and female disk golfers in the world are competing. The event continues May 15 and 16. Treat yourself to a fun and laid back experience!⛳
I enjoy playing realms after Twilight hours 14 bucks for 18 holes can't beat the price 😁😁
Great disc golf and ball golf scene. Beautiful property with lots of water shots.
A nice municipal course with just enough challenge for golfers of all levels. Greens and tee blocks are in good shape. The fairways are mowed nicely and the rough is thick. Outside the fairways are numerous squirrel holes. They have a unique pest control in the form of a few foxes. Although they do hunt, they prefer their meals from the golfers who feed them.
Course is in very good condition, rate of play is good. Players needs to rake sand in bunkers after walking and hitting out. Good driving range, golf carts needs more cleaning attention after being use.
The older man working the counter at 9am Sunday morning when the register was down was rude , I walked in and greeted him a good morning and his first words were " you are going to have to wait, I cannot check anyone in right now" I say okay okay I'm not checking in I just want a large bucket. He wasn't really nice about the fact I just wanted golf balls and immediately shot me down saying his register was down. I totally understand but he could have been nicer to myself and other customers who I've seen him react the same way too. The other guy working Friday and Saturday was extremely nice and we'll mannered , I'll be back but not on Sunday mornings when the older gentleman is there.
Course in pretty good shape for a public course, rough could use a mowing though little thick.
