June normally means the start of outdoor concerts and food fairs, but we know this year is a little different. What remains the same, is our ability to celebrate those important men in our lives on Father’s Day! While Mom gets all the attention in May, it’s time to shine a spotlight on dad. This year, Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday, June 19. There’s nothing wrong with going the traditional route of tossing a few hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill at home, but give this list a look over for a few ideas to mark the special occasion in other ways in Stockton.
Golfing and Father’s Day run hand-in-hand in many ways. If your dad’s idea of relaxation is a round of golf, help him tee off at a local golf course. Never golfed before? This is a great time to start! A match on the green at one of the area’s notable golf courses with some practice swings on the range will make for a perfect Father’s Day outing - and see if Dad’s still got a hang on that golf swing. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat at an on-site restaurant to keep dad fueled.
Why not take dad out for brews and ax throwing? No, really! For a fun activity on Father’s Day, treat dad to some tasty brews and plenty of ax throwing with Limitless Axes & Ales! Located over at Lincoln Center, ax throwing with a cold one could just be the chill release that dad is looking for. Dressing like a Viking isn't required... but we're not against it.
Help your dad escape from the stresses of real life for a couple of hours with—what Dane Cook would phrase as—a "cinematic adventure." Regal Stockton City Centre Cinema 16 IMAX & Regal Stockton Cinema 8 are stocked up with the most recent Hollywood blockbusters to hit the silver screen. Whether it's Top Gun: Maverick, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, Jurassic World: Dominion, or any of the other releases, you're sure to find the perfect entertaining story for dad to lose himself in.
BONUS: The Friends of the Fox Classic Movie Series will be showing It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World one week before Father's Day (Sunday, June 12) at the Bob Hope Fox Theatre. A nice little treat for the dads yearning to see classic films back on the big screen.
