Family-Friendly nighttime activities in Stockton

Just because the sun is going down doesn't mean the fun has to stop! Here are some family-friendly activities to do in Stockton at night.

Catch a movie

Now that movie theaters are open again there's no better way to take in a big Hollywood blockbuster than at the Regal Stockton City Centre Cinema 16 & IMAX. Nothing brings the action to life like a massive IMAX screen. The fact that they have reclining, lounge seating only adds to the experience as you can be comfortable while also being blown away by the spectacle on the screen. The theater is conveniently located in the middle of Stockton's downtown district, putting a wide array of dining options within reach, helping you make it a true night out with the family.

Catch a game

What's more traditional than taking the family to see a baseball game? The Stockton Ports play at Banner Island Ballpark through most of September and they put on quite a show. Not only will you see some great baseball, but every home game has some sort of promotion as well adding to the fun. Home games start at 7:05 except Sundays, which start at 6:05. Now, we could make a "Family time at the ballpark is sure to be a hit" joke here, but we're above that sort of thing. But you know the kids will have a ball.

Go to the Races

Few things can be as thrilling as short track racing, and they definitely deliver on that promise at Stockton 99 Speedway. There's a lot of history here at this track; it's the oldest one still in operation west of the Mississippi River. In addition to stock car races they also bring in stunt bikes, drift racing and just about every class of race car you can imagine.

Stockton Cruise Night

What kid doesn't love checking out performance cars, right? Every third Thursday from June to October the Miracle Mile is filled with countless works of automotive art during Stockton Cruise Night. You'll find classics right along side modern marvels, each one gleaming in the evening light. The cars cruise up Pacific Ave and back. Then they park along the mile so you can check out their work while also grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many delicious restaurants nearby.

Market on the Mile or Yosemite Street Night Market

Farmers' Markets are a great way to get kids interested in the importance of fresh foods and supporting local businesses. They are also so much more than just produce, with local makers showcasing their art and other products. Both the Market on the Mile and the Yosemite Street Night Market are filled with vendors showcasing delicious fresh produce, children's items, plants and flowers, art, jewelry and so much more, plus live music. The Market on the Mile happens each Wednesday until October 27. Click here for all dates. The Yosemite Street Night Market is every other Wednesday until Sept. 29. Click here for full dates.
