The Obon Japanese Festival & Odori highlights the rich Japanese culture that flows through our city. There will be amazing Japanese food, beautiful flower arrangements, martial arts performances, music, and plenty more. This culturally-fueled tradition is one you don't want to miss!
If you love good food, then Weber Point is the place to be on Saturday, Aug. 5 for the Soul Food Festival. The free event starts at 11 am and runs until 8 pm, giving you plenty of time to feed your body and spirit. In addition to amazing food, there will also be live entertainment, retail vendors, and local nonprofits. Bring your lawn chair and an appetite, it's going to be a great time!
The Taste of The Delta fundraiser for the California Delta Chambers takes place Saturday, August 5 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Village West Marina Yacht Club. Sample delicious wines and food and enjoy vendor booths, and live music. Plus, there will be silent and live auctions, too! Tickets start at $45 for advanced purchases.
The famous California Garlic Festival returns to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds the weekend of August 5 & 6 from 12 noon to 7:00 pm. Stockton Cruise Night is another fun event for car enthusiasts, as countless works of automotive art make their way to the Miracle Mile for a cruise up Pacific Ave. After the cruise, the cars park along the Miracle Mile so you can get a closer look. The cruises happen every third Thursday, June through October—which includes Thursday, August 17. It's free to attend, leaving you plenty of money in your pocket for a meal at one of the delicious restaurants on the Miracle Mile, making for a fun night out on the town.
