Disc golf is a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise. Stockton is a big player in the disc golf community, and you’ll soon see why.
Looking for a way to burn off some energy while still following safety guidelines? The three biggest disc golf courses in and near Stockton are open, giving you the chance to get outdoors and enjoy some activity. Like most businesses, they are operating under new guidelines to help limit contact, but they still provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy a growing sport that Stockton shines at. If you’re not sure where to get started, here’s a list of the best ways to dive in to disc golf in Stockton. For more area courses visit our Disc Golf Course listings.
You actually have two courses to choose from at Oak Grove Regional Park. The Purple and Gold courses rest among manicured grass flanked by massive oaks. While this is the most popular course in Stockton and home to a lot of tournaments, it’s also a great place to learn the sport.
The course at this regional park, also known for its zoo and Japanese Garden among other features, offers a bit more of a challenge. You’ll have to work your way around numerous trees while also avoiding the large water feature that lurks at three of the holes. The challenge is worth it, however, as the course is beautifully maintained and makes for a great day outdoors.
Located at Swenson Park Golf Course, this disc golf course was created by the Delta Windjammers, our local disc golf advocates, and hosts for some pretty big national tournaments. If you find that disc golf is something you’d like to spend more time doing, look into the leagues and other events here and join a supportive, fun community.
You’ll find several other courses spread throughout the region as well, making Stockton the ideal place to stay and play. Book a room at one of our local properties and spend a weekend, or longer, exploring every course the area has to offer.
