2026 is here! And with it comes a whole new year of celebrations and events right here in Stockton. Here's just a few of the many events that are going on in our city worthy of your attention.
Stockton Restaurant Week RETURNS!
A Stockton staple is back as Stockton Restaurant Week makes its triumphant return to your social media feeds and local restaurants. From January 16 thru 25, we will be highlighting Stockton's fantastic restaurants and the mouthwatering specials they have in store for you. This is a unique experience for locals and food lovers alike to enjoy delicious food all while participating in our Stockton Restaurant Week gift card contest! Click here for more details!
Stockton Kings & University of the Pacific Basketball
Our very own Stockton Kings have four home games this month! Click here for dates, times, and tickets for their upcoming showdowns at Adventist Health Arena. You can also catch the collegiate athletic excellence of University of the Pacific's men's and women's basketball by clicking here.
Haggin Museum
Two 2025 exhibits come to an end this month over at the Haggin Museum. The Thomas D. Mangelsen: A Life in the Wild exhibit finishes its run on Sunday, January 11, while The Cambodian Experience: Our Journey to America - Finding Freedom will be on display until Saturday, January 24.
The Haggin's Annual McKee Student Art Contest & Exhibition returns once again this year . This event features the work of student artists from kindergarten through grade 12. Over 1,000 pieces of art are chosen by teachers as the best in their class will be on display inside the museum from January 29 - March 15.
Don't forget: First Saturday (January 3) is Free Admission Day at the Haggin!
Zion Chamber Orchestra Festival
The Zion Lutheran Church is holding one of THREE musical events in January. The Zion Chamber Orchestra Festival is happening January 4, 11, and 23. This concert series offers the finest music in an intimate, inviting setting featuring the best instrumental and vocal talent in the Valley conducted by Paul Kimball. Add this special event to your "January things to do" list.
Performing Arts
The Stockton Civic Theatre proudly presents The Nance, gracing their main stage from Thursday, January 15 thru Sunday, February 1. This play recreates the naughty, raucous world of burlesque’s heyday and tells the backstage story of Chauncey Miles and his fellow performers. You do not want to miss this!
Over at Atherton Auditorium at San Joaquin Delta College, Saint Mary's High School and Performing Arts Department will present Saint Mary's Encore and Ovations on Sunday, January 25. Come out and enjoy an evening of these young talents singing songs from their school years and current hits.
Jo Koy: Live From Stockton
Jo Koy, one of today’s premier stand-up comedians, is coming back to Stockton for not one, but TWO nights. Catch this hilarious Jo Koy: Live From Stockton show as it comes to Adventist Health Arena January 16 and 17 from 8 - 10 pm. Not only will Jo Koy be live, but this special event will also be part of a taping for his next Netflix special! Don't miss out on this epic and hilarious night.
Stockton Symphony's Motown Magic
On Sunday, January 18, the Stockton Symphony presents Motown Magic! With guest conductor Jeff Reed at the helm, this celebration brings the golden age of soul music to life, featuring the hits that defined an entire generation. Legendary hits by icons like Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and more will be echoing off the walls of Atherton Auditorium, and you don't want to miss it!
St. Joseph's Fun Run/Walk for Wellness
St. Joseph's Medical Center will be having their annual Fun Run/Walk for Wellness event on Saturday, January 31 at University Park Campus. This 5k can be done on location or virtually, with all proceeds going to benefit the St. Joseph's Cancer Institute. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, swag bag, free photo downloads, post-race food, and more. Take part in a fun community event for a good cause.
Friends of the Fox Classic Movie Series presents Grumpy Old Men
"Putz! Moron!"
Relive the hilarity of a classic cinema duo when 1993's Grumpy Old Men hits the silver screen at the Bob Hope Fox Theatre on Sunday, January 25. Starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Mathou, and Anne-Margaret, this beloved film follows two lifelong neighbors whose playful feud escalates when a new woman moves into the neighborhood. Doors open at 1 pm.
Plus, all month long there's special events at some of our great restaurants—including Friday Nights at Binge, Whirlow's Cocktail Dinner Show, and Sizzle's Smooth Jazz at Coach's Lounge!
