Read More2023 has arrived! And with it comes a whole new year of celebrations and events right here in Stockton. Here's just a few of the many events that are going on in our city worthy of your attention.
The Haggin Museum's Sci-Fi to Superheroes: The Art of Sideshow Collectibles exhibit continues its run now through Sunday, January 29. Catch this beautiful display of art honoring the science fiction and comic book mythological titans before it leaves Stockton.
On Thursday, January 12, the Harlem Globetrotters make their way back to the Stockton Arena to entertain the masses. Prepare to be amazed once again by the skills on the court & the fun of it all. Two nights later, on Saturday, January 14, catch the best mixed martial artists in our area when they throw down for 209 Beatdown XVII at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium!
Plus, our own Stockton Kings will be back in the arena for two home games happening Thursday, January 26 and Saturday, January 28 against the Memphis Hustle.
We've got plenty of music and theatre going down in Brick City this month. First off, the Stockton Civic Theatre will proudly present Cat On A Hot Tin Roof—a Pulitzer Prize-winning play is the story of a family imploding under the stress of dark secrets and lies—from Thursday, January 19 thru Sunday, February 5.
Additionally, the Stockton Symphony will have TWO special events. First, Pictures at the Atherton Auditorium will take place on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22. Then, the symphony will hold their Steppin' Out performances Tuesday, January 24, Wednesday, January 25, & Thursday, January 26.
There's going to be not one, not two, but THREE big nights in a row at the Bob Hope (Fox) Theatre at the end of the month! First up, on Thursday, January 26, Steve-O from Jackass fame will be here for his Steve-O: The Bucket List Tour. The following night (Friday, January 27), stand-up and television legend Jerry Seinfeld will be gracing the stage. And finally, on Saturday, January 28, famed and highly talented artist David Garibaldi will be honoring us with his stunning and immensely creative art.
St. Joseph's Medical Center will be having their annual Fun Run/Walk for Wellness event on Saturday, January 28 at University Park Campus. This 5k can be done on location or virtually, with all proceeds going to benefit the St. Joseph's Cancer Institute. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, swag bag, free photo downloads, post-race food, and more. Take part in a fun community event for a good cause.
